March held to raise awareness on road risks posed by strays

In a heartfelt tribute to Punjabi youth icon Rajvir Jawanda, the singer-cum-actor who passed away in a road accident, Bollywood actor Gavie Chahal led a peace march in Patiala to raise awareness about the dangers posed by stray animals.

The march aimed to urge authorities to take concrete steps to control stray animal population and improve road safety. It commenced from the Gandhi statue on Mall Road and culminated at Thikri Wala Chowk, drawing supporters from across the region.

Chahal emphasised the need for collective action to prevent such tragedies.

Jawanda died due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27. He passed away after 11 days of critical care due to multiple organ failure. Jawanda had reported lost control of his motorcycle. Some reports suggested that stray cattle might have entered the road, causing him to swerve and crash.
