Jupiter International to power state’s green future
Himachal Pradesh’s industrial hub Baddi is set to become a key centre for green energy manufacturing, with Jupiter International Limited (JIL) investing Rs 468 crore to set up its fourth solar unit at Lodhimajra.
The upcoming 1 Gigawatt (1 GW) Solar Cell Manufacturing Unit will feature advanced Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology, capable of achieving over 25% energy efficiency. Commercial production is expected by February 2026.
JIL Managing Director Alok Garodia said the project reinforces the company’s commitment to India’s renewable energy mission. CEO Dhruv Sharma added that the initiative will make Himachal a hub for clean energy innovation while creating large-scale jobs and skill development opportunities.
COO Kasturi Roy Chaudhary emphasised the plant’s adherence to global environmental standards, and Director DN Pandey noted that around 2,000 employment opportunities will be generated, prioritising local youth.
