NTWB pushes reforms to boost business in J&K

NEW DELHI, Oct 10: The 7th meeting of the National Traders Welfare Board (NTWB) was held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, today to discuss measures for strengthening trade and business across India, with a special focus on Jammu & Kashmir.
Board members, including Dr Sanjay Bansal, presented key suggestions aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the trader community.
In his welcome address, Joint Secretary Sanjeev of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) said, “The consistent efforts of the Board members have significantly strengthened the trader community and promoted ease of doing business across India.”
Chairman Sunil Singhi highlighted the Next-GEN GST 2.0 reforms, stating, “These reforms mark a major step toward economic simplification. Consumers and traders will benefit from reduced GST rates on essential goods, vehicles, and insurance, making 375 items more affordable nationwide.”
He also praised the campaign “GST Bachhat Utsav,” saying it reflects the gratitude of traders and consumers for the transformative reforms.
Dr Sanjay Bansal emphasized the importance of extending Government welfare schemes to Jammu & Kashmir’s entrepreneurs and MSMEs, noting, “Such initiatives will rebuild investor confidence, accelerate industrial development, and empower local traders to compete nationally.”
The meeting also reinforced the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. A poster titled “Garv Se Kaho, Ye Swadeshi Hai” was released to promote Indian-made products.
Board members pledged to support the campaign, particularly in regions like Jammu & Kashmir, to boost local industries and employment.
