Jr NTR bows out of SS Rajamouli’s Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic: Reports

In a surprising turn of events, Jr NTR has reportedly backed out of SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated biopic on cinema pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke. The project, tentatively titled Made in India, was creating immense buzz for reuniting the RRR star with his blockbuster director. However, fresh reports reveal that Jr NTR has chosen to walk away from the film, leaving fans and the industry curious about the reasons behind this decision.

Why Jr NTR Opted Out?

According to reports, Jr NTR’s decision stemmed from multiple factors. The actor was reportedly hesitant to portray a real-life figure like Dadasaheb Phalke at this stage of his career, preferring fictional or mass-appeal roles for now.

Another key reason, sources suggest, was the fact that Karthik Rajamouli, SS Rajamouli’s son, would be directing the film - not the master filmmaker himself.

Adding to the uncertainty, rival projects on the same subject - including one featuring Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Hirani - are already in the works, making Tarak wary of overexposure. Scheduling conflicts with his upcoming high-profile ventures, including Dragon with Prashanth Neel, Devara 2, and other pan-India films, further complicated his participation.

Rajamouli’s Team Looks Ahead

Despite Tarak’s exit, Rajamouli’s camp reportedly plans to continue with Made in India. Rumours hint that Prabhas could be approached for the lead, though no official confirmation has been made.

Meanwhile, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, has expressed reservations about Rajamouli’s interpretation of the story, while praising Aamir Khan’s biopic approach as more “respectful and grounded.”
