Zen & the art of travel

What does travel mean to you personally?

Travel is essential. It’s the time to disconnect from routine and reconnect with yourself. It’s rejuvenating and helps me return refreshed and realigned. For me, it’s never just a break — it’s about coming back with new energy and perspectives.

What kind of holidays do you enjoy the most?

I’m all about adventure! I love skydiving, scuba diving, and meeting people who share my enthusiasm for life. My trips are usually abroad, and each one leaves me with unforgettable memories. For instance, in Bangkok, I met incredible people and realised the city is far richer than its usual reputation.

Do you believe travel has to mean going far away?

Not at all. Anyone can travel. It’s not about distance or luxury — it’s about discovery. Sometimes travel is simply doing something you haven’t done in a long time. It’s about disconnecting to reconnect, and through that, you discover yourself. Real travel starts with self-awareness, not a passport stamp.

Do you prefer travelling solo or with company?

Most of my trips are solo, which I truly cherish. Solo travel lets me move at my own pace and connect more deeply with the world around me. It’s liberating, giving me space to think, feel and grow.

What are the three travel essentials you can’t do without?

My phone, sunscreen and protein — these are my constants wherever I go. I’m particular about staying connected, protected and nourished on my trips.

What’s your dream travel destination now?

A few years ago, I would’ve said Switzerland. Today, I seek energy and depth from every place I visit. My dream destination now is Brazil during Carnival — a vibrant explosion of life, dance, colours and pure joy. Viva la Vida!

How do you integrate spiritual practices like meditation or mindfulness into your daily life?

Living alone, my home is my epicentre — always energised. I’m often in a zen zone. My practices include chanting and staying calm, which have become natural over the years. Happiness is the greatest zen in troubled times, coming from faith and surrender. Mindfulness means being present — and that’s ultimate power.

How has spirituality influenced your outlook on success and life as an actor?

Completely. Living alone was tough at first, but now I love my own company — I can dine alone, watch movies alone, attend events alone, and still feel complete. That’s true empowerment. I’m not materialistic and buy only what I need. Professionally, I no longer worry if auditions don’t convert into projects. I trust divine timing and go with the flow. That calmness is my greatest success.
