BM Child Development Center holds workshop

JAMMU, Oct 12: BM Child Development Center, Sainik Colony, Jammu, recently organised a hands-on training workshop for its therapists on the “Identification and use of Total Communication Approaches for Neuro-Diverse Children.”
A statement said the resource persons, Rajiv Poonia from Early Intervention Center CHETNA, New Delhi (Indian Navy), and Harsheka Kar, Neuro Occupational Therapist from GMC Bakshi Nagar, conducted the training.
They explained different communication methods and highlighted the benefits of play therapy for special children through case studies and live demonstrations based on their extensive experience with children with special needs.
BM Child Development Center is one of Jammu’s leading facilities providing sensory integration, communication development, and paediatric physiotherapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), and Gross Developmental Delays (GDD).
Center Head Rajeev Kumar said the workshop was part of the Center’s quality improvement initiatives aimed at keeping therapists updated with the latest practices in child development.
He added that such programmes help empower children and their families to achieve meaningful progress in their daily lives.
