Pathania announces ₹57 lakh sub-tehsil building for Darini
Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip of the Congress Party in the Vidhan Sabha, Kewal Singh Pathania, announced that a new Sub-Tehsil office building at Darini will be constructed at a cost of Rs 57 lakh.
He made the announcement while inaugurating the ‘Swachh Nari–Sashakt Nari’ (Clean Women–Empowered Women) multi-specialty health camp and school bag distribution event at Ridkamar in the Dharkandi area on Sunday.
Pathania said the health camp aimed to raise awareness among rural women, ensure regular check-ups, and address nutritional issues, noting that “clean and empowered women form the base of strong families and a progressive society”.
Highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects, he said Rs 18 crore was being spent on upgrading the Bhanala-Ruled road, benefiting seven panchayats. The vacant radiographer post at the local hospital would also be filled soon.
The MLA further announced Rs 22 lakh for development works in schools and informed that Rs 30 lakh had already been spent in Ridkamar Panchayat. An additional Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned for the boundary wall of the local hospital, while a new gate will be built at the Tal Mata temple.
Pathania added that road connectivity will soon be extended to Mahad, Panjol, Dibba and Raun villages.
At the event, he also distributed school bags and medicinal plants to 250 students under the AYUSH department’s initiative, and took part in Godh Bharai and Annaprashan Sanskar ceremonies organised by the Women and Child Development Department.
Shahpur Congress launches Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod drive
The Shahpur Congress Committee on Sunday launched the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ campaign to protest alleged vote theft by the BJP. The drive was formally launched at the Rait Congress office, where MLA Kewal Singh Pathania signed the first signature.
Pathania said Congress workers would visit every village in the Shahpur Assembly constituency to “expose the central government’s actions.” The campaign aims to create public awareness and mobilize grassroots support.
After collecting signatures from across the constituency, the Congress unit will send a memorandum to the party high command.
To ensure mass participation, various party wings — including the NSUI, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, INTUC and Seva Dal — have been tasked with taking the campaign to homes and villages, turning it into a people’s movement against what the party calls the BJP’s “attack on democracy”.
