Education System: 2000 schools in UP may face cancellation of their recognition, UPMSP orders probe

UP News: According to reports, many schools have shown far more students registered on the board’s portal than are actually enrolled. In some places, students have not even been enrolled.

Significant news has emerged regarding the education system in Uttar Pradesh. The accreditation of nearly 2,000 schools under the UP Board is at risk. These schools have uploaded incorrect student information on the board’s portal. The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UP Board) has ordered an investigation into the matter and directed all District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS) to take immediate action.

According to information received, several schools have shown far more students registered on the board’s portal than actually enrolled. In some cases, students were not even enrolled, yet registration numbers were issued. Some schools left student entries incomplete. Due to this discrepancy, the board has decided to review the accreditation of all these schools.

UPMSP is the largest education board in the country.

Education Board officials say that a significant discrepancy has been found between the data recorded on the portal and the ground reality. This has raised suspicions that some schools were fraudulently inflating student numbers to gain access to government grants or recognition renewals. It is worth noting that the Uttar Pradesh Board (UPMSP) is the largest education board in the country, with over 27,000 secondary schools registered under it. Millions of students take high school and intermediate examinations every year. Therefore, if action is taken against 2,000 schools, it could impact thousands of students.

UPMSP warns District School Inspectors

The UP Board has warned all District School Inspectors that schools found to be negligent or fraudulent may face suspension or cancellation of their accreditation. Strict action will also be taken against the managers and principals concerned. The Education Board has also clarified that schools will now be required to accurately record student attendance and enrollment details on the portal. The Board states that maintaining transparency and credibility in the education system is its top priority.
