The Indian men’s cricket team left from New Delhi to go to Australia on Wednesday morning for a white-ball series that includes three one-day matches and five T20 games. This trip also marks the comeback of experienced batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to international matches. Shubman Gill will be the new captain for the one-day team.

The one-day matches will start on Sunday at Optus Stadium in Perth, with the next two games taking place on October 23 and 25. The T20 games will be played from October 29 to November 8.

Some of the well-known players seen at the Delhi airport were team leader Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Harshit Rana, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma last played during the Champions Trophy, where India won all their matches. Rohit Sharma scored 76 runs from 83 balls in the final and was chosen as the best player of the match.

Both experienced players now only play one format after retiring from T20 matches following India’s T20 World Cup win in Barbados. They also decided to stop playing Test matches before the tour of England.

Head selector Ajit Agarkar said that Rohit Sharma is no longer the captain, and the role has now been given to Shubman Gill.
