7th pay commission latest: After the Centre, now state governments have also started giving dearness allowance (DA) to their employees. In this connection, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the release of 3 percent DA for employees and pensioners. This allowance will be added to the salary and pension of October and will be payable in November. Sukhu said that the arrears for the period from April to September 2025 will also be deposited in the bank accounts of the employees in October and separate orders will be issued for the payment of arrears from July 2023 to March 2025. The Chief Minister said that after consultation with the union members, the government will consider implementing an Employees’ Pension Scheme (OPS).

Uttarakhand government also announced

Recently, the Uttarakhand government has given the gift of dearness allowance and bonus to the state employees on the occasion of Diwali. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a three percent increase in DA for government employees and pensioners. This will be considered effective from July 1. After this, state employees will now get 58 percent dearness allowance instead of 55. Under this, the daily allowance of state employees from July 1 to October 31 will be given in cash. More than 2.50 lakh employees and pensioners are going to get its benefit from the government’s decision before Diwali.

Jharkhand government’s gift too

Similarly, the Jharkhand government increased DA by three percent to 58 percent. Dearness allowance for pensioners has also been increased by three percent to 58 percent. Previously, employees and pensioners received 55 percent DA and DR, respectively. Similarly, several other states, including Sikkim, have also increased allowances.

The Union Cabinet, in a Diwali gift, on October 1 increased dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) by three percent for approximately 49.19 lakh central government employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners. DA and DR currently constitute 55 percent of the basic pay/pension, and the three percent increase is effective July 1, 2025.
