In anticipation of the rush of passengers during Diwali and Chhath, the Railways has taken a significant decision. For the convenience of passengers, a festival special train will be operated between Prayagraj Junction and Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi).
Festival special train: The railways are offering passengers another gift during the festive season. Anticipating the increased passenger traffic for Diwali and Chhath, the Indian Railways has decided to run a festival-special bi-weekly express train between Prayagraj Junction and Hazrat Nizamuddin. This train will run twice a week, providing significant relief to passengers traveling between Delhi and Prayagraj.
Train Schedule and Timings
According to the Railways, Train No. 04123 will run between Prayagraj Junction and Hazrat Nizamuddin every Wednesday and Sunday, effective immediately, until November 2, 2025. The train will depart from Prayagraj at 2:50 PM and arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 11:35 AM the next day. Train No. 04124 will run from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Prayagraj every Thursday and Monday, effective immediately, until November 3, 2025. The train will depart from Delhi at 3:45 PM and arrive at Prayagraj at 9:10 AM the next day. Both trains will make a total of six trips each.
Stoppage and Route Information
For the convenience of passengers, these trains will stop at several major stations. The trains will stop at Shankargarh, Dabhraua, Manikpur Junction, Chitrakootdham Karwi, Atarra, Banda, Mahoba Junction, Kulpahar, Harpalpur, Mau Ranipur, Veerangna Laxmibai (Jhansi), Gwalior Junction, Dholpur Junction, Agra Cantt, Mathura Junction, and Kosikalan.
AC, Sleeper, and General Coaches
This festival special train has been provided with AC, Sleeper, and General classes to ensure a comfortable journey for passengers of all classes. The Railways has appealed to passengers to obtain complete information about the train’s route, timings, and stoppages before traveling by calling the Rail Madad helpline number 139 or visiting the website www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in to check the updated timetable.
Platform tickets will not be available
In view of the increasing crowds during the festive season, the Indian Railways has taken a major decision. Platform tickets will be temporarily suspended at major railway stations in Delhi-NCR from October 15th to October 27th. This includes Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. This decision by the Railways will make it easier to control the number of people coming to the station and reduce problems and accidents caused by crowds. The purpose of discontinuing platform tickets is to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers during Diwali and Chhath.
