Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Bill Gates' debut in Hindi TV drama! Smriti Irani confirms historic collab

Microsoft co-founder and global philanthropist Bill Gates is all set to make a special appearance in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.
Actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani, who reprises her iconic role of Tulsi Virani after 25 years, confirmed it calling it as a “historic moment” in Indian television.
A Historic Collaboration
Speaking exclusively to CNBC-TV18, Smriti Irani said, “This marks a historic moment in Indian entertainment. For far too long, women and children’s health has remained on the margins of mainstream dialogue. This initiative is a powerful step toward changing that.”
Gates’ appearance, she emphasised, will serve a greater purpose beyond entertainment — spreading awareness about health and social issues through storytelling.
Bill Gates to Advise Tulsi in the Show
Sources close to the production revealed that Smriti Irani’s Tulsi Virani will interact with Bill Gates via a video call in a special storyline that will span multiple episodes.
The sequence reportedly shows Tulsi discussing her strained relationship with her daughter, Paridhi Virani, while Gates offers thoughtful advice on maintaining balance between family responsibilities and self-care.
An insider told News18 Showsha, “Tulsi, who is distressed due to her equation with her daughter Pari, will be seen discussing her issues with Bill Gates. He will guide her on how to take care of her family and herself.”
Promo Sparks Excitement
A recently released promo teased the big reveal, showing Tulsi greeting someone from America on a video call. Fans quickly began speculating that the mystery guest was indeed Bill Gates.
Tulsi says in the promo, “Jai Shree Krishna, bahut accha laga yeh jaanke ke aap seedha America se mere parivaar se judd rahe hai.”
Spreading Awareness Through Entertainment
Reports suggest the special episodes will focus on women’s health and newborn care, areas actively supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Smriti Irani has been using the show as a platform to weave socially relevant messages into mainstream entertainment — tackling issues like body shaming, ageing, and false domestic violence allegations.
