'Thamma' worldwide box office collection Day 4: Ayushmann Khurranna-Rashmika Mandanna starrer shows further decline

The cracks are widening for Thamma at the domestic box office. Maddock Films' latest horror-comedy flick has already endured an underwhelming opening three days at the ticket windows despite having a Diwali day release date. The three-day figures of the film is approximately Rs 53 crore nett.

 

The opening day numbers of Rs 25 crore nett was a huge let down to start with, given that the film had the capacity to collective upwards of Rs 35 crore nett or even Rs 40 crore nett. However, a combination of below-par promos and mixed post-release feedback meant that the opening numbers fell below the mark.

 

Thamma did have a reasonable second day as the drop wasn't too big from Day 1 but the problem is that the opening day wasn't significant. The film then had to have a third day almost similar to Day 2 but that didn't happen either. The drop on Day 3 was alarming as it collected Rs 12 crore only, which is a huge downfall from the previous day (Rs 18 crore).

 

The fourth day is basically indicating big trouble for Thamma at the box office. The morning shows started with approximately 5 percent drop to Day 3 and the trend were similar for the afternoon shows as well. There is already a drop of 20 percent detected and that means that the film might struggle to touch double digits on Friday.

 

As per early estimates, Thamma is heading for Rs 9-10 crore nett on its fourth day and it will need a real push in the evening and night shows to go past double digits. This takes the four-day India nett collections to approximately Rs 62-63 crore nett. There will be an upturn in the second weekend but the film need to show a massive spike across Saturday and Sunday if it has to have any chance.

 

For now, the trends for Thamma aren't encouraging at all and with high costs involved, Maddock Films need a miracle at the box office.
