'Bison Kaalamaadan' vs 'Dude' worldwide box office collection Day 10: Dhruv Vikram beats Pradeep Ranganathan in second weekend
It has been a relatively dull second weekend for all the Diwali releases at the Tamil Nadu box office. Bison Kaalamaadan and Dude are the only performing films with Diesel being an effective non-starter due to a fractured release and poor word-of-mouth.
Pradeep Ranganathan's comedy entertainer is the festival winner thanks to an excellent opening weekend and first week although the collections have started to decline with each passing day. It has, however, done enough to attain SUPERHIT status and will be another Rs 100 crore worldwide grosser for Pradeep who already had Dragon which grossed Rs 150 crore earlier worldwide this year.
Meanwhile, Dhruv Vikram's Bison Kaalamaadan took a very low start on its opening day but has sustained very well thanks to excellent word-of-mouth that has powered the film across all territories. The four-day TN gross came to Rs 25 crore while the first week numbers came to around Rs 29 crore with the worldwide gross touching Rs 40 crore already.
In the second weekend, it is the Dhruv Vikram-starrer that has scored over Dude at the Tamil Nadu box office with better collections on Friday and Saturday. The trends suggest that Sunday will be a repeat with Bison Kaalamaadan once again having a better day at the box office.
The ten-day collections in the state for Dude will be around Rs 53 crore while Bison Kaalamaadan will be around Rs 38 crore.
