Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Bihar is all set for the 2025 assembly elections, which will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11 to elect representatives to the 243-member state assembly. Currently, Bihar has a total of 74.2 million voters, of which 39.2 million are men and 35 million are women.

Ahead of the elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued procedures to ensure a smooth election process. Voters who do not have a physical voter ID card need not worry, as they can vote using other accepted identification documents.
According to the ECI, the voter ID card (EPIC) is a preferred identification card but is not mandatory for voting. Instead, voters whose names are registered in the electoral roll can show any one of the 12 valid photo identity cards at the polling station to confirm their identity.

- Voter ID Card
- Passport
- Driving License
- Service ID Card issued to employees by the Central/State Government/Public Sector
- Undertakings/Public Limited Companies
- Photo passbook issued by a bank/post office
- Smart card issued under a scheme of the Ministry of Labour
- MNREGA Job Card
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued under a scheme of the Ministry of Labour
- Pension Document with Photo
- Official Identity Card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
- Aadhaar Card
The Election Commission has stated that if a person’s name is already registered in the Bihar voter list as of January 1, 2003, they do not need to show any additional identification to vote.
Bihar Assembly Elections 2025
This election is expected to be a tough contest. On one side is the ruling NDA alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United), while on the other side is the Grand Alliance, led by the RJD and the Congress.
Results to be declared on November 14
The NDA is trying to retain power in the state, while the opposition Grand Alliance is trying to oust the ruling alliance from power. The results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections will be declared on November 14.
