DG BSF flags off BSF Jammu Marathon 2025

JAMMU, Nov 9: In a grand display of fitness, patriotism and community spirit, BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary today flagged off the Jammu BSF Marathon 2025, marking the first major public event by the force post Operation Sindoor. The event was held at Shaheed Veer Dev Stadium, BSF Camp Paloura and also included the BSF Motorcycle Rally from Jammu to Bhuj (Gujarat).
The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from BSF personnel, border residents, foreign athletes, and civilians, showcasing a vibrant blend of courage, determination, and national pride. The flag-off ceremony was graced by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, para archer Rakesh Kumar, and actor Vivek Razdan as guests of honour, who also participated in promoting fitness awareness and sportsmanship.
Bathed in early morning energy, hundreds of runners, including BSF personnel and local participants, ran together to foster friendship, unity, and national integration. Winners of the marathon were felicitated by the chief guest and other dignitaries with trophies, medals and cash prizes for their remarkable performances.
DG BSF Daljit Singh Chawdhary appreciated the participants’ enthusiasm, emphasizing that such events strengthen bonds of friendship, reflect the BSF’s commitment to discipline, and inspire a fit and active lifestyle.
The BSF Motorcycle Rally, covering multiple states, was flagged off to promote patriotism, national unity, and fitness awareness. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to all dignitaries, participants, organizers, and media representatives for contributing to the successful execution of this landmark event.
Meanwhile, several runners from Jammu claiming podium finishes across categories. In the 42 km Full Marathon, Tina Sahi secured 3rd place in the female 40+ age group, demonstrating remarkable determination. Jammu women dominated the 21 km Half Marathon (40+), with Manminder Kour taking 1st, Anuradha Kumari 2nd and Dr. Pratiksha Raghuvanshi 3rd. In the 10 km category (40+), Manget Singh finished 3rd among men, while Dr. Rahila Praveen and Seema Sharma claimed 2nd and 3rd in the female category, respectively.
