Instagram Accounts Of Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan & Other Pakistani Celebs BANNED In India After Pahalgam Attack
In a major turn of events, several Pakistani celebs, including Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly and others lost a major chunk of their social media followers after their Instagram accounts was blocked by the Indian government. This comes in the wake of the rising tension between the two countries following the ghastly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
On Wednesday evening, netizens pointed out that the Instagram accounts of Hania Aamir, Mahira, Sajal, Bilal Abbas Khan, Iqra Aziz, and other popular Pakistani celebs could not be accessed in India. They all flashed the same message which read: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content."
However, the accounts of Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, Mawra Hocane, Farhan Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, and other Pakistani celebs, who too enjoy a massive fan following in India, were intact at the time this article was published.
Not just the profiles of individuals, but the Indian government has also banned the YouTube channels of several Pakistani production houses from streaming in India. Many Pakistani dramas that were popular in India, have now been suspended in the country as well.
The Indian government has been taking several measures against Pakistan after terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam on April 22 and claimed 26 lives. Several celebs condemned the attack, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, among others.
In a separate incident, as India suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, Hania's Indian fans were seen sending her bottles of water to grapple with the supposed water shortage in the neighbouring country. A video of some youth posing with the parcel addressed to Hania has gone viral online. However, the video was allegedly made for humourous purposeses, netizens claimed.
