Bank holidays in May 2025: Check full list to avoid last-minute rush

Some of the festivals are celebrated nationwide while others are state wise. Government offices, Schools, Colleges, Banks will be closed as a result of the celebration of festivals.

Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan celebrate remembrance of the Rajput king of Mewar.

12 May, Monday

Buddha Purnima is being celebrated so in many states holiday is announced to be specifically states like Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Andaman and Nicobar.

16 May, Friday

 To commemorate Sikkim becoming the 22nd state of India in the northeastern state of Sikkim, schools, colleges, and offices are being closed.

26 May, Monday 

In Tripura, the birthday of Kazi Nazrul Islam who is a Bengali Poet, writer, musician is being celebrated. So, it’s a public holiday in that state.

30 May, Friday

In Punjab and Haryana, Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji is being celebrated. Banks, offices will be closed in Punjab and Haryana.
