Meet actress, who left her country fearing for her life, made Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s…, she is now…, name is…
Warina Hussain became a familiar name after she was launched by Salman Khan, opposite his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma in a romantic comedy drama Loveyatri (2018). Bankrolled by Khan under his production banner and directed by debutant Abhiraj K. Minawala, the film received mix reviews when released. Inspired by the 2006 Telugu film Devadasu, the film marked Bollywood debuts of Warina and Aayush.
When asked Warina, how did she back the role under the Salman Khan banner, she revealed, “I was auditioning for a couple of films, there was a contest on ‘Being in Touch’ app. I applied and after almost a month I got a call for an audition. When I received the script, there were no details about the production house or the hero, which usually are mentioned, I thought it will be a huge film and I auditioned.”
Warina was born in Afghanistan, but left the country as a child. The war situation happening in Afghanistan then forced her family to ran away. She had been in India for a decade now, but the memories of her time in the country stay alive in her mind. In a 2021 interview with Hindustan Times, the actress recalled, “My memories will always be of family picnics, food, and a beautiful spring in Kabul, which I doubt will ever be the same again; the only air one will now breathe will be of suppression.”
After she moved to Delhi, Warina ventured into modelling. She studied theatre in New York in 2017 and after her completion, she started auditioning for movies. Following the release of Loveyatri, the actress didn’t got much offers on her plate. She appeared in a music video with Badshah. Warina also did an item number ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’ with Salman Khan in the third installment of his hit Dabangg series. Prabhudeva also joined the pair for a dance performance.
She actively participated in South Indian films, including a Telugu movie with Kalyan Ram in an NTR production. She also worked in a comedy film called Poster, and did a couple of music videos as well including ‘Akh Lad Jaave’ and ‘She Move It Like’.
