Akshara tops tricity in ICSE Class X exam
Akshara Saini, a student of Little Flower Convent School, Sector 14, has topped the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 exam in the tricity by scoring 99.4 per cent marks.
Akshara’s father Pradeep Saini, a superintending engineer in the electricity board in Haryana, said she aimed to become an engineer.
“For me, consistency is the key and I always believe in quality over quantity,” said Akshara, who loves poetry and table tennis. She studied four to five hours daily and also managed some time to go through her Class 11 syllabus. “Along with preparing for the Class 10 examination, I was reading Class 11 books to update myself. After the exams, I joined table tennis class and also continued going through the Class 11 syllabus,” said Akshara, who has also won various debates and declamations.
Four students shared the second spot in the second spot in the tricity. Ramya Bansal and Aasmaa Sri Garg, both students of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, along with Atuleya Malhotra of St Stephen’s School, Sector 25, and Arshnoor Singh of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, shared second spot in the tricity with a score of 99.20 per cent.
“I am happy with my score and extend my gratitude to my teachers for supporting in academics,” said Ramya.
