Rohtak dairy units directed to shift to Kanheli Complex

Rohtak Municipal Commissioner Dharmendra Singh has directed that all dairy units operating within the city limits be shifted to the designated Kanheli Dairy Complex without further delay. He emphasised that strict action would be taken against violators, including sealing of dairies that failed to comply with the relocation order.

Singh made these remarks during a meeting held with municipal officials here on Wednesday. He said notices would be issued to all dairy owners who were allotted plots in the Kanheli Dairy Complex but had not yet moved their operations there.

“All concerned dairy operators will be given a one-week deadline to shift to the designated complex. After this period, non-compliant dairies will be sealed in accordance with the municipal regulations,” he added.

A MC official said that the dairy complex project was initiated several years ago, with 250 plots allotted to dairy operators to facilitate their relocation. However, more than 50 per cent allottees had not moved so far and they were requesting various amenities here before making the shift.

A team from the Municipal Corporation conducted an inspection of the Kanheli Complex to prepare a list of dairy operators who were allotted plots and identify those who were yet to relocate. Based on this list, formal notices would be issued and legal action would follow against defaulters.

The Commissioner has also directed the Joint Commissioner of Rohtak to ensure the matter is handled with seriousness and urgency. If needed, a dedicated committee should be formed immediately to oversee the relocation process without any administrative delays.

Additionally, Singh ordered strict enforcement against those disposing of cow dung in drains and sewer lines. He noted that such actions led to blockages, causing significant inconvenience to the public. Offenders will be fined, and challans will be issued as part of a broader sanitation drive, he said.
