Dasmesh Girls College makes headlines again with Muktsar student’s silver medal at ISSF World Cup
Dasmesh Girls College at Badal village has once again made headlines with the remarkable achievement of one of its students, Simranpreet Kaur Brar, who recently won a silver medal at the ISSF World Cup in Lima, Peru.
Competing in the 25-metre sports pistol event, Simranpreet, a BA-II student, secured second place, bringing immense pride to the country and her alma mater.
“Simranpreet’s journey began with a gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Germany in 2022, followed by silver medals at the World Championship and the Asian Championship. She continued to add to her collection of medals, including victories at the 38th National Games and the 67th National Shooting Championship, showcasing her dominance in both the 25-metre and 10-metre pistol events at the senior level,” said Dr SS Sangha, Principal, Dasmesh Girls College.
He further expressed pride in Simranpreet’s achievements and noted that her success reflects the college’s strong legacy in sports, particularly in shooting.
Simranpreet’s success is the latest in a long line of achievements by students of this college, which has consistently produced top-tier shooters and other sportspersons over the years.
Olympian shooter Avneet Kaur and Olympian boxer Simranjit Kaur – both Arjuna awardees – are also alumnae of this college.
