2-day girls’ badminton contest ends

The two-day Girls’ Open Badminton Tournament 2025, hosted by the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, concluded on Monday.

Prof PC Tewari, professor in-charge of physical education and sports section said, “These two days witnessed the participation from more than 50 talented players in singles and doubles categories. It featured pool matches leading to a thrilling set of semifinals and finals.”

In the singles category, the final match was played between Eshii and Ritika. Eshii clinched the title 15-9, 14-16 and 15-8. In the doubles category, the team of Hema and Palkin displayed outstanding coordination, defeating the team of Ritika and Meghna 15-12, 15-11.

Dr Tewari emphasised the role of such tournaments in empowering young women through sports. He said that the success of the event has reinforced the institute’s commitment to promoting sports among youth and encouraging excellence in every field.
