Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the first team to be eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season after match no. 49 on April 30 (Wednesday). CSK suffered a 4-wicket loss against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Owing to inconsistent top-order batting and an inexperienced bowling attack, they managed to secure only 2 wins in their 10 matches. This is not the first time the five-time champions have faced such an early exit. In 2020, they were also the first team to be eliminated from the IPL season.
