IPL 2025: After CSK's Exit, These Two Teams Face Playoff Elimination Threat
With their recent defeat to Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings have officially bowed out of the IPL 2025 playoff race. CSK became the first team this season to be eliminated, having managed just 2 wins in 10 matches and sitting at the bottom of the table with 4 points.
Now, two more teams appear to be on the brink of a similar fate, with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
Two more teams in danger after CSK's exit from IPL 2025
Rajasthan Royals
The 2025 season has been far from ideal for the Rajasthan Royals. Out of their 10 matches, they've managed to win only 3, suffering 7 losses. With just 6 points and a negative net run rate of -0.349, they currently occupy the 8th spot on the table.
RR faces Mumbai Indians on May 1 in what is virtually a do-or-die clash. A loss in that match could see Rajasthan join Chennai in being ruled out of the playoff race.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad have also had a rough campaign. With just 3 wins from 9 matches and 6 points to their name, SRH sits in 9th place on the standings with a worrying net run rate of -1.103.
Hyderabad's next challenge comes on May 2 against Gujarat Titans. Failure to secure a win there would almost certainly end their playoff chances and make them the third team to exit the race.
