High Voltage Drama: Cop Slaps Devotee At Banke Bihar Temple In Mathura(VIDEO)

Mathura: Lakhs of devotees had reached Vrindavan on Wednesday, on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, to seek blessings at the Banke Bihari temple. Barriers were put up at various places at the gate of the temple, where people were gathered in large numbers awaiting their chance to seek blessings. During this, a police personnel slapped a devotee. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media.

The devotee can be seen being manhandled by two cops at the gate of the temple. One of the cop runs towards the rope to control the crowd after people were trying to bypass it. After this, the other cop slaps him.

Reportedly, the man being slapped in the video is a businessman, who owns shop in the Temple. When he was going towards his shop, the policeman caught him and slapped him on the cheek.

Police Reacts

Reacting to the viral video, Mathura police's official X handle said, "The concerned area officer is investigating the matter shown in the referenced tweet. Departmental action will be taken after the investigation."

Notably, a day before, senior officials had given clear instructions in the auditorium of Ramakrishna Mission Hospital that the visiting devotees should be treated with decency and politeness.

Where is Banke Bihari Temple?

Banke Bihari Temple is located on Raman Reti in Vrindavan Dham in Mathura district of UP. It is one of the ancient and famous temples of India. Banke Bihari temple has an idol that shows the child form of Lord Krishna. The temple was built in 1864 by Swami Haridas. Swami Haridas was a great devotee of Shri Krishna. It is believed that the idol of Shri Krishna installed in this temple has appeared on its own.
