Bhubaneswar: Workers are the backbone of the country’s strength and development, said Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

On the occasion of International Labour Day, the BJD President emphasized the invaluable contributions of workers, stating, “Their sacrifice and hard work are priceless.”

Naveen also highlighted the BJD government’s efforts in implementing significant measures for the welfare of workers, underscoring the party’s commitment to their progress.
“Many strong steps have been taken by the Biju Janata Dal government for the welfare of our working brothers and sisters,” he said, while calling for collective efforts to further strengthen these initiatives and ensure the continued advancement and well-being of workers across Odisha.

International Labour Day, or International Workers’ Day, is celebrated globally on May 1 to honor workers’ vital contributions and their enduring fight for fair treatment, better wages, and safer working conditions.
