The Meteorological Center Shimla has warned of bad weather in the entire state till May 7. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on May 1, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in some parts of the state. Apart from this, the speed of winds is expected to increase further from May 2 to May 6 to reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. On May 7, a warning has been issued again of thunderstorms at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The department has advised people to stay in safe places and get weather information before travelling.

Heavy rains may occur in many parts of the state on 5 and 6 May. During this time, light snowfall is also expected in high altitude areas. This snowfall can be seen especially on the high peaks of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and Kullu districts. While there is a possibility of damage to crops due to strong winds and rain, there is also a possibility of disruption in power supply. Wheat harvesting work in the plains may be affected especially due to bad weather.

During the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry in most places in the state. Although there was a strong storm at some places, there is no report of damage anywhere. Winds blew at a speed of 44 kmph in Siobagh and Bajuara, while the speed of the storm in Tabo and Rekongpeo was 43 kmph. Due to these winds, the maximum temperature dropped by 2 to 3 degrees, giving some relief to the people from the heat.

Talking about the temperature of the state, the minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded 3 degrees Celsius above normal. The minimum temperature in Shimla was 15.5 degrees Celsius. It was 21.4 in Sundernagar, 18.1 in Bhuntar, 9.2 in Kalpa, 16.8 in Dharamsala, 20.5 in Una, 16.7 in Nahan, 5.5 in Keylong, 18 in Solan, 12.7 in Manali, 23.8 in Kangra, 22.2 in Mandi, 21.9 in Bilaspur, 22.2 in Hamirpur, 18.5 in Chamba, 16.1 in Dalhousie, 19.1 in Jubbarhatti, 12.4 in Kufri, 7.2 in Kukumseri, 10.2 in Narkanda, 15.2 in Bharmour, 12.8 in Reckongpeo, 16 in Seobag, 23.2 in Dhaula Kuan, 20.9 in Barthin and 7.9 degrees Celsius in Bato.
