AAP MLAs protest against BBMB’s decision in Fatehgarh Sahib
On a call given by the AAP leadership, all three party MLAs from the district — Lakhbir Singh Rai (Fatehgarh Sahib), Gurinder Singh Garry Waring (Amloh) and Rupinder Singh Happy (Bassi Pathana) — along with their workers on Thursday held a protest at Fatehgarh Sahib, Mandi Gobindgarh and Bassi Pathana against the BBMB’s decision to release 8500 cusec to Haryana from Bhakra Dam.
They burnt the effigies of the Prime Minister and the BJP and raised slogans against the Centre. Addressing their workers, the MLAs termed the BBMB’s decision as an anti-Punjab move. They appreciated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for taking a tough stand to save Punjab water. They said Haryana had already received its due share and now the BJP government at the Centre was arm-twisting the Punjab Government to release the water which would not be allowed. They said AAP knew how to protect the interests of Punjab and was ready to make any kind of sacrifice for this.
