'This Will Give Sleepless Nights To Many': Modi Launches Rs 8,900-Crore Vizhinjam Deepwater Seaport In Kerala
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport to the nation, a landmark project worth Rs 8,900 crore. On Friday at 11:33 AM, Prime Minister officially commissioned the first phase of the facility, joined by Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, and Thiruvananthapuram Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
Stating about sharing the stage with I.N.D.I.A bloc members, PM said that many people would lose sleep over this.
During the inauguration event of Vizhinjam port, PM Modi as per PTI said, "I want to say this to the CM (Pinarayi Vijayan)... you are a strong pillar of INDI alliance. (Congress MP) Shashi Tharoor is also sitting here. Today's event will give sleepless nights to several people. He (translator) could not (translate these line)... but the message has gone where it had to."
Further, PM said that there was a huge sea with great opportunities on one side while on the other side there was amazing natural beauty. Amidst all these, he said, "The Vizhinjam International Seaport is a symbol of new age development. I congratulate the people of Kerala and the people of the country."

Situated in Thiruvananthapuram district, the port is poised to significantly enhance India's position in global trade and maritime logistics.
