Himachal roars into luxury tourism, 19 supercars blaze through Manali town

In an extraordinary celebration of speed, style, and Himalayan adventure, Himachal Pradesh hosted the First Himachal Supercar Drive 2025, a landmark four-day event that brought together 19 of the world’s most elite supercars in the scenic hill town of Manali. The arrival of luxury cars marks a significant leap for the state’s aspirations in high-end adventure and luxury tourism. The event would conclude in Manali on May 4.

Convoy like never before

Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, McLarens, Jaguars, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, Nissan GTRs, and Audis — some of the most iconic names in the automotive world — rumbled through the mountain passes as nine supercars from Mumbai and 10 from Chandigarh made their grand entry into Manali. The convoy comprised of 24 elite drivers and enthusiasts, united by their love for speed and scenic roads.

Allure of the Himalayas

Local MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur warmly welcomed the group at Span Resort in Manali on Thursday. He expressed his excitement about the new dimension the event was bringing to the tourism sector in the state.

He said, “The arrival of these top supercars in Himachal Pradesh marks a new beginning for luxury tourism in our state. It is a moment of pride to witness such an esteemed group choose our beautiful land for this inaugural drive. The government extends its full support to this historic adventure and we are committed to fostering such initiatives.”

Dream realised

The event was spearheaded locally by Praveen Sood (Pintu), president of the Himalayan Xtreme Sports Association, in collaboration with Entertainment Bay Experience, who played a crucial role in organising the ambitious drive.

“We have been striving for years to organise a drive of this caliber,” said Sood. “This is a dream come true, not just for us as organisers but also for the people of Himachal. It highlights the massive potential of our region in attracting high-end tourism. We are grateful to the Himachal Pradesh Government, the Kullu and Lahaul administrations and the Border Roads Organisation for their unwavering support.”

Into the heart of Himalayas

The luxury convoy’s journey does not stop at Manali. The supercars are set to travel through the Atal Tunnel, an engineering marvel that connects Kullu to the remote and the beautiful Lahaul valley. This will be the first time high-performance supercars will traverse this challenging and high-altitude route, making it a symbolic and visual representation of the fusion of cutting-edge technology and raw natural beauty,” said Sood.

Beginning of new chapter

Praveen Sood said that the First Himachal Supercar Drive 2025 was more than just a luxury event. It indicated Himachal Pradesh’s readiness to welcome elite global travellers, who seek thrilling, exclusive experiences beyond the conventional. With its snow-capped peaks, winding roads and welcoming culture, the state is positioning itself as a premium destination where luxury meets adventure.
