Baby Among 6 Dead, 8 Injured In Triple Collision Involving Jeep, Bus And Motorcycle In Gujarat’s Sabarkantha

Six persons, including a baby girl, were killed and eight others injured in a triple vehicle collision involving a jeep, a state transport bus and a motorcycle near Hingatiya village in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district on Saturday, police said. According to Inspector N.R. Umat of Kheroj police station, the accident occurred on a state highway when a jeep and a state transport bus collided head-on. Following the initial impact, a motorcycle carrying three persons rammed into the jeep.

“Six persons lost their lives, and most of them were in the jeep, which was badly mangled due to the impact,” Inspector Umat told news agency PTI, adding that the bus was travelling to Vadodara from Ambaji in Banaskantha district while the jeep was heading in the opposite direction.

The deceased included mostly men from the Sabarkantha district, the police official added. The injured are undergoing treatment at Himmatnagar Civil Hospital, the district headquarters.

2 People In Critical Condition After Gujarat Accident

News agency IANS reported that three people were in critical condition following the accident. The victims were initially taken to a local hospital before being shifted to Himmatnagar Civil Hospital for advanced treatment.

Vipul Jani, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Civil Hospital, said, “A triple accident occurred where four people died on the spot. One was brought in fatal condition, while two others are in serious condition and have been placed on ventilators.”

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision.
