Madhya Pradesh: Massive Fake Billing Scam Unearthed In Bhojpura Panchayat
Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A major scam involving fake billing has surfaced in Bhojpura village under Chhatarpur district panchayat. Sarpanch Rajkumari Lakhanlal Ahirwar and Secretary Abhishek Jain are accused of siphoning off lakhs of rupees using bogus bills lacking GST numbers or firm registration.
The fraud centres on construction works such as boundary walls, platforms, and e-rooms. The district panchayat officials and employees are also suspected to be involved, pointing to a larger nexus aimed at embezzling government funds.
Traders from the Badamalhara area have allegedly provided fake bills for sand and gravel, despite there being no registered sand mines locally. This raises questions about the legitimacy of procurement and the absence of e-royalty and goods tracking.
The scam deepened with the exposure of a bogus firm, Singhai Traders, allegedly operated by Jitendra Jain of Ward No. 11, Badamalhara. The firm, lacking GST or TIN registration, is reportedly generating fake invoices for a 10% commission and is linked to similar fraudulent activity in around 79 panchayats.
The silence and inaction of administrative officials have also come under scrutiny, casting doubt on their role in the scam.
Probe soon
Collector Parth Jaiswal stated, “We’ve received information about the use of fake bills in Bhojpura. An investigation will be launched after consultation with the District Panchayat CEO, and strict action will follow against the guilty.”
