NEET today, NTA cautions against rumours, misinformation
The National Testing Agency (NTA) which will conduct the NEET (UG) 2025 across 5453 centres and 13 cities abroad on Sunday has stated that preparations have been taken to avoid any chance of leak and malpractice. The NEET (UG) was marred with allegations of paper leak and malpractice last year.
“All preparations and logistical arrangements for organising a safe and secure examination have been made. Over 22.7 lakh candidates have registered for the examination, which will take place tomorrow from 2 pm to 5 pm. The mock drills at all centres were successfully conducted earlier today,” Pradeep Singh Kharola, Director General, NTA, said.
In a concerted effort to curb the spread of rumours about NEET (UG), the NTA has taken up the cases with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre Under the Ministry of Home Affairs. “As a result, action has been initiated against, over 165 Telegram channels and more than 32 Instagram accounts disseminating false information,” Kharola said.
The agency has advised students to rely only on official communications from the NTA website and avoid engaging with unverified sources or middlemen claiming to influence the examination or admission process.
