Factory worker alleges robbery of lakhs, police suspect foul play

Three miscreants on a bike snatched a bag from a man riding an Activa this afternoon at Manna Singh Nagar. The robbers took the bag that was hanging around his neck. The man also suffered minor injuries on his forehead and hands.

According to him, the bag contained over Rs 10 lakh in cash, but police suspect foul play behind the claims and have launched an investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident. As soon as police received information about the incident, cops from Police Division 4 reached the spot. The victim has been identified as Rajpal Chaudhary.

Regarding the complainant’s claim about the looted amount, the SHO said it is being verified and the facts will emerge soon. An alert was sounded in the area and CCTV cameras are being scanned to gather clues about the suspects.

Complainant Rajpal said he collects money on behalf of a factory located in Bhadaur House. Today, after completing collections, he was heading towards the factory when he was cornered by bike-borne persons who snatched the bag containing cash. Additional DCP Sameer Verma said a police investigation is underway and the case will be cracked soon.
