Michael Vaughan’s BOLD claim after IPL heroics: ‘I’ve a feeling Vaibhav Suryavanshi will break Sachin Tendulkar’s record…’

New Delhi: Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi achieved a remarkable feat in his second IPL match, scoring the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history. His 35-ball hundred propelled the Rajasthan Royals to a comfortable victory in their 210-run chase against the Gujarat Titans.

Vaibhav’s impressive batting performance generated significant buzz, receiving praise from both experts and fans. Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan commented on Yadav’s IPL success and the possibility of his upcoming international debut.

Sachin Tendulkar remains the youngest Indian male cricketer to debut in Test matches, achieving this feat at age 16 in 1989. While 14-year-old Suryavanshi shows promise, former cricketer Michael Vaughan cautions against prematurely integrating him into the national team.

“They got to be very careful,” Vaughan told the Club Prairie Pire Podcast.

“India play that much white-ball cricket that it can overlap with the Test team at times. There will be opportunities. My advice would be, do not rush him. Just let him play.

“IPL is a lot of pressure enough, just let him enjoy for a while. We are all going to see him play for India, it’s just a case of whether he will be 14, 15, or 16. I’ve a feeling he will probably beat Sachin’s record to play for India. But I wouldn’t be rushing him,” said Vaughan.

A young player has participated in four matches, debuting last week against the Lucknow Super Giants. He impressed immediately, hitting a six with his first ball, bowled by Shardul Thakur. His aggressive batting style earned him commendation, as evidenced by his 34 runs from 20 balls against the LSG.

Vaibhav scored a century against the Titans, but was dismissed for a duck in Rajasthan Royals’ subsequent match versus Mumbai Indians.
