The accused, identified as Sher Masih and Suraj Masih, are residents of the Ballowali area in Amritsar. According to officials, they were collecting sensitive information related to the Indian Army and Amritsar Air Base, and sending it to Pakistan via mobile phones. The duo was reportedly capturing videos and photos of army movements and infrastructure near the Amritsar cantonment and air base, and transmitting them across the border. The arrests were made under the Official Secrets Act, and a case has been registered at the Ajnala police station. Preliminary investigation reveals that they had been engaged in this espionage activity for several days. Police are currently interrogating them further to uncover their network and trace any additional accomplices. In a related development, the Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended a Pakistani Ranger near the India-Pakistan international border in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar sector. The Pakistani personnel was caught allegedly conducting Spying activities inside Indian territory. The ranger is now in BSF custody, and investigations are ongoing. These incidents have raised serious concerns about cross-border espionage attempts and security along the sensitive border regions.
