'Ro Doongi': Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir REACTS As Indian Fans Use VPN To Access Her Instagram After Ban Post-Pahalgam Attack

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir's Instagram account has been restricted in India amid escalating tensions following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Several other Pakistani celebrities, including Ali Zafar, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane, and Atif Aslam, have also faced similar restrictions. However, despite the ban, several Indian fans have found ways to access Hania’s Instagram profile.

In a recent Instagram video posted by Hania, several Indian users commented that they would purchase a VPN (Virtual Private Network) subscription to bypass the restrictions, which will allow users to mask their location and access content that may be restricted in their region. Fans have resorted to this method to continue following their favourite celebrities, including Hania, despite the ongoing tension.

An Indian user commented, "Don’t worry, humne VPN subscription liya hai apke liye" (We’ve taken a VPN subscription for you). Hania Aamir replied, saying, "Ro doongi' (I’m gonna cry)"

The accounts of several popular Pakistani actors and content creators display an 'Account not available' message when accessed by users from India.

"Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content," Instagram says on these accounts.

A few days ago, after Hania's Instagram was banned in India, a statement went viral which was "falsely" attributed to her, whic claimed that Hania had requested PM Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider the decision of restricting their Instagram accounts.

Later, Hania shared a long post on her Instagram Stories, clarifying that the post is "fake" and she hasn't made any such comment. Taking to her Instagram story, she wrote, "Recently, a statement has been falsely attributed to me and is being widely circulated on social media. I want to address this directly: I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me. It is entirely fabricated and misrepresents who I am and what I believe".

Hania added, "That being said, this is a deeply sensitive and emotional time. My heart goes out to the innocent lives lost and the families affected by the recent tragedy. Pain like this is real, and it deserves empathy-not politicisation. In times like these, it's easy to let emotions cloud our judgment, but we must remember: the actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without proof only deepens divides and distracts from the real need for compassion, justice, and healing".

"To my beloved supporters, your love means everything to me. I kindly ask everyone to check the truth before sharing and to approach these difficult times with kindness and clarity. Let us honor those impacted by choosing empathy, truth, and togetherness. I remain committed to spreading positivity and respect in all that I do.
