Anant Ambani reveals who supported him when he faced health issues, its not Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani

Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, stepped into his new role as Executive Director at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on May 1, 2025. The youngest heir to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance behemoth, Anant has grabbed headlines not just for his professional milestones but also for his deeply personal health struggles. From a young age, Anant battled asthma and obesity, and while he surprised the nation by losing 108 kgs in a short span, the weight eventually returned, making him a target for online trolling.

In a past conversation with India Today, Anant revealed the name of the person who stood by him through his ups and downs and surprisingly its neither his parents nor his siblings.

During the interview, Anant credited his wife Radhika Merchant for being a pillar support like no other during his battle with health issues. Sweetly calling her “the person of my dreams,” Anant said, “I am lucky (to have her) for sure. She is the person of my dreams. Since childhood, I had thought that I would never get married because I was always devoted to taking care of animals. But when I met Radhika, I saw her sharing the same values as me. She has this sense of giving and nurturing towards animals.”

Sharing how Radhika has supported him in his healthcare journey, Anant revealed, “Beyond that, Radhika has stood like a strong pillar of support during my difficult times, as I battled with health issues. Even my parents never made me feel like I was ill. Even when doctors gave up on certain things, they never did. Additionally, Radhika gave me strength.”

Expressing how grateful he is for having a companion like Radhika and a loving family, Anant shared, “They always told me to not give up and keep fighting, especially for someone who has battled health issues since childhood. There are many people in more pain than me, hence I am grateful to God for everything. I have never paid attention to anything anyone says. It’s their job to gossip, but for me, my family and their support is of the utmost importance.”

Anant married Radhika in a lavish six-day wedding event in Mumbai, India, from July 12 to July 30, 2024. The event was regarded as the ‘wedding of the year,’ and drew a large number of prominent guests, including celebrities and world leaders, in attendance.
