'Good Bad Ugly' OTT release: Ajith's action movie to stream on this platform on this date

After its theatrical run, superstar Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, will begin streaming on May 8 on Netflix. The film, which also stars Trisha, Sunil, Arjun Das, and Priya Prakash Varrier alongside Simran, Yogi Babu, and Jackie Shroff in guest appearances, is a retro-flavoured tribute to the actor. The film sees Ajith and Trisha sharing the screen again after Vidaamuyarchi. Salaar-Part 1 fame Karthikeya plays their son.

A large-scale, colourful extravaganza filled with references to Ajith's earlier films, the film has the actor playing a gangster who comes out of prison to save the life of his kidnapped son while dealing with criminal gangs from different corners. In the review of THE WEEK, the film was described as a "boisterous, colourful, and manic trip to the mind of an Ajith fanboy who utilises all the tools and resources at his disposal to go as wild as possible."

"Ravichandran keeps reminding you that you are watching a movie, lest you forget. In fact, at one point, Ravichandran's voice asks Ajith's character, AK, whether he should 'add a song with Simran' while the actor looks at the camera and tells the director "he should be killed first" for making him do certain things. This moment alone is a testament to the amount of freedom that Ravichandran was afforded by Ajith and the producers — to paint in bold, heavy brush strokes with all the colours in his paintbox," said the review.
