Anant Ambani fitness coach reveals he entered Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s family due to…, it involves an actor, not Shah Rukh Khan

Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, underwent a remarkable transformation by losing 108 kilograms in just 18 months in 2016. However, this was possible with the help of his ex-fitness trainer, Vinod Channa. But how did the duo meet?

Interestingly, it was Abhishek Bachchan’s relative who first discovered Vinod, and then, as destiny would have it, he eventually went on to become the trainer of the Ambanis. Vinod, who once struggled with being very underweight, shared his personal story of transformation, from battling his own body image to becoming a professional bodybuilder. Over time, his expertise in fitness gained him the opportunity to coach several prominent figures, including John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Ananya Birla, and the Ambani family.

In an interview with BollywoodShaadis, renowned celebrity fitness coach Vinod revealed that his journey began not with the Ambanis, but with bodybuilding. He earned numerous accolades, including gold medals and championship titles. Once a skinny youth, Vinod transformed himself into one of the country’s top professional bodybuilders. Armed with determination and expertise, he began offering training sessions in Mumbai’s localities, starting from Prabhadevi and extending to Dadar.

He shared that back then, most people weren’t willing to spend much on fitness, as awareness around health and exercise was minimal. Barely 2% of people were into fitness, he recalled, and not even 200 individuals in the area regularly worked out. Due to the lack of demand and low payments, he decided to move his base to Bandra. It was there, while training and coaching clients, that his fortunes took a turn—he was noticed by Abhishek Bachchan’s cousin, a moment that would prove pivotal in his career. “Somebody saw me training the people invited me to Abhishek Bachchan’s The Unforgettable Tour. He (Abhishek) wanted a trainer. His cousin saw me in the gym and approached me and wanted somebody who is good. Ananya Birla then called me. John Abraham’s Ritesh’s body transformation worked, and from there Nita mam came to know, and she wanted somebody for Isha Ambani,” Vinod was quoted as saying by BollywoodShaadis.

The Ambanis were already impressed by Vinod’s deep understanding of fitness, especially since he had been honored with the title of the best trainer in the country. In addition to working with the Ambani family, Vinod has trained several Bollywood celebrities, including John Abraham, Shilpa Shetty, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Harshvardhan Rane, among others. Reflecting on the early days of his journey, Vinod shared that fitness was surrounded by myths back then—one of the most common being “exercise nai karneka” (don’t exercise).

Vinod embarked on his fitness journey because he had been extremely skinny from childhood all the way through his graduation years.Vinod revealed that growing up, he often faced ridicule—not just from friends and classmates, but even from his own family. He was frequently mocked with names like ‘sukda’ and ‘patla’ because of his thin frame.

Under Channa’s guidance, Anant displayed immense dedication and discipline, sticking to a strict training regimen. Channa closely monitored Anant’s daily calorie intake, limiting it to just 1200 calories a day.
