1,920 candidates take NEET-UG exam in Jhajjar

As many as 1,920 candidates appeared for the NEET-UG exam, held at six examination centres the district, on Sunday. A total 1,968 candidates had registered for the exam in the district, and 48 were absent.

District authorities claimed that the exam was held peacefully, and without any instances of cheating.

To ensure a fair and secure environment for the exam, the administration remained on high alert throughout the day.

Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya and DCP Logesh Kumar conducted surprise inspections at various exam centres.

They reviewed all arrangements, including CCTV surveillance and other essential measures, as per guidelines, and interacted with centre superintendents and staff.

“Strict protocols were followed to maintain the confidentiality of the question papers and ensure smooth delivery to exam centres. In view of security, nearby photocopy shops and outlets dealing in electronic gadgets were shut down. Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Safety Code was enforced within a 200-m radius of all centres,” said a spokesperson of the district administration.

He added that, considering the sensitivity of the exam, duty magistrates were deployed at each centre.

All guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were strictly adhered to.

The Police Department ensured robust security arrangements. Among the candidates, seven were differently-abled, the spokesperson noted.
