3 leaders of BKU (Azad) rounded up at Longowal
Three senior leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Azad), including a state-level leader Jaswinder Singh Soma, were today rounded up as a preventive measure by the police at Longowal village when they were heading to protest in front of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora in the village.
Arora was in Longowal village to lay the foundation stones of three development works, including the stone of a 30-bed Community Health Centre (CHC). As per reports, the BKU (Azad) leaders had chalked out a programme to ask questions from Arora, regarding the uprooting of Kisan morchas and other issues of the farmers, but the police did not allow them to go ahead.
Dilbag Singh Harigarh, a senior leader of the BKU (Azad), said this evening that the police had detained three leaders of the union — Jaswinder Singh Soma, Kulwinder Singh Soni and Happy Namol.
