Yamunanagar MC to send data of contractual staff for regularisation to Urban Local Bodies Dept

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, will send data of its contractual employees, who completed their five years in service till August 15, 2024, to the to the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department for their regularisation. According to information, nearly 271 employees are serving under Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) in the MC. As many as 65 employees have been serving in the civic body for more than five years without a break till August 15 last year.

There are 10 employees, who took a break in between or changed from one post to another post whereas 196 employees did not complete five years in service till the given time. Apart from these, 12 employees are working under part-2 policy in the MC.

Holding a meeting with the members of the committee constituted under the Job Security Act, Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha held detailed a discussion on the regularisation of contractual employees.

Besides, he discussed that several employees had worked in other departments before joining the MC. If such employees did not complete their five years in service in the MC by August 15, 2024, they employees will have to get a certificate of their service period from the previous employer (government department) to take benefit under the Job Security Act. The period of working at both places should be a minimum of five years.

Municipal Commissioner Sinha said the employees, including 12 employees of part-2 policy who had worked for more than five years on the same post without a break till August 15, 2024, would get the benefit of job security. He further said the data of employees, who had worked for five years without a break, but they were on another post earlier and later started working on another post, would be sent to ULB Department to clarify which post they would hold.
