CPM appoints Brittas as party leader in RS

The CPM has appointed its Rajya Sabha member John Brittas as the parliamentary party leader in the Upper House.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party said that Brittas, who was deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, was appointed to the post by the central leadership of the CPM after Bikas Ranjan Bhattacharya relinquished his position.

The MP from Kerala is also a member of the Standing Committee on External Affairs, Committee on Public Undertakings and the Advisory Committee on the Department of IT.
