The Vande Bharat train running between Bengaluru and Dharwad is now being extended to Belgaum. Belgaum MP Jagdish Shettar informed that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has approved this proposal. Under this, this train will now run from Belgaum in the morning and provide direct service to Bengaluru.

This decision will provide relief to thousands of passengers not only from Belgaum but also from nearby areas, who will no longer have to travel long distances and change trains repeatedly to go to Bengaluru. This will also reduce travel time and improve connectivity.

Timing will change

At present, Vande Bharat train departs from Dharwad at 1:15 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 7:45 pm, but now after the operation starts from Belgaum, a change in the timetable is considered certain. Earlier, Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat train passes through Belgaum, but people demanded that a separate train should be run for Bengaluru. Now that demand is being fulfilled with this extension.

There was a long standing demand

Efforts were going on for this train for a long time. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Eranna Kadadi, Minister of State for Railways V Somanna and Jagdish Shettar himself were active on this issue. Now that the train has been approved, it will not only save time for those traveling from Belgaum to Bangalore, but will also strengthen the region economically. The Karnataka government is also planning to increase the number of buses and trains recently, so that better connectivity can be ensured within the state. Starting a direct train service from Belgaum will provide great relief to those traveling to Bangalore for business, education and health.
