LPU hosts vibrant graduation ceremony for i International students
International students from over 40 countries, proudly wearing graduation caps and robes, turned Lovely Professional University (LPU) into a global celebration of dreams, resilience and achievement as they marked their Graduation Day.
Hundreds of international students, soon to graduate, participated in the ceremony, representing nations including Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Mongolia, Myanmar, Yemen, Morocco, Sudan, Nepal, South Sudan, Ivory Coast and more.
The ceremony was chaired by LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, with several distinguished dignitaries in attendance, including Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud, President of Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology (JUST), Somalia, Jean Asantewaah Oduro, First Secretary at the Ghana High Commission, New Delhi, LPU Pro-Chancellor Dr Rashmi Mittal, Vice-Chancellor Dr Jasapal Singh Sandhu, Dr Sanjay Modi, Dr Monica Gulati, Vice President of LPU Dr Aman Mittal, along with senior officials from JUST, Abdirizak Warsame Abdulle and Mohamed Abdulaahi Ali.
In his address to the graduates, Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal shared an inspiring message: “Today, you stand at the doorway of endless possibilities. The education, friendships and values you’ve gained at LPU have prepared you to lead and transform the world around you. Wherever life takes you, carry the spirit of LPU within you as torchbearers of positive change, bridge-builders between cultures, and as examples of leadership rooted in resilience and collaboration.”
Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud also congratulated the graduates, stating, “Your accomplishments are more than personal victories; they are a testament to your resilience and vision. Earning a degree from LPU, one of India’s premier universities, places you among a global community of leaders and innovators. Carry forward the spirit of excellence, foster the bonds you have created here, and remember that today’s achievement is the foundation for tomorrow’s extraordinary journey.”
Dr Aman Mittal, Vice-President and Head of International Affairs at LPU, extended a vote of thanks to the dignitaries, students and faculty. “Seeing you all graduate today is a proud moment. From welcoming you on your first day to witnessing this achievement, it reflects the spirit and vision we hold for our international students. As you step into the world and return to your countries or explore new opportunities, know that you carry with you not just a degree, but the experience, values and learning of the university,” he said.
The evening culminated with vibrant performances from the graduates, who sang Indian songs, danced to music from their homelands and filled the auditorium with energy, rhythm, and shared joy. The celebration embodied the spirit of unity in diversity, as students brought their cultures together in a moment of global togetherness.
