India-Pakistan war: India has water bomb, Islamabad is afraid of it due to…, it is more dangerous than nuclear bomb because…
In countries which share land borders, rivers flow from one country to another. Incase of India and Pakistan, it is Indus river which originates from a glacier called Bokhar Chu near the Kailash mountain range in Tibet.
Course of Indus River
This river flows in the north-west direction and enters the Ladakh region, then goes to Pakistan via Jammu and Kashmir, and finally falls into the Arabian Sea. In such a situation, the country through which the water is flowing can stop the water of that river if it wants. The situation of India and Pakistan is similar, that is, if India wants, it can stop the water of the Indus River.
India and China
However, a similar situation exists between India and China as well. China can temporarily stop the water of the Brahmaputra river and then release it without warning, which can cause floods in the north-eastern states. This is because the Brahmaputra river enters India from China. Similarly, now Pakistan is afraid that India can do the same against it after the water of the Indus river is stopped.
Pakistan is scared
Now ‘water bomb’ remains a big threat for Pakistan. India’s strategy of suddenly releasing water from its reservoirs has created the threat of floods and destruction in the lower areas. Even though this is not an official term, India can create a ‘water bomb’ like situation by doing this.
