BHU is renowned worldwide for its legacy and wealth of education. It was established by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916. This institute serves as a reminder of the jaw-dropping architecture representation of Indo-Gothic structures.

The credit for establishing Banaras University goes to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. He received this land as a donation for the construction of the university.

How Much Land BHU Covers?

Reportedly, BHU sprawls far and wide covering as many as 11 villages, spread over about 1300 acres or 5.3 km. Every year more than 30 thousand students pass out from here.

On the other hand, Oxford University is spread over 1327 acres while Harvard campus is about 5667 acres.
