Healthcare Services at MKCG MCH Hit Hard as Seven Doctors Remain Absent for Years

Berhampur: The healthcare services at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur have been hit hard as seven doctors at the state-run hospital remain absent from duty for years.

The prolonged disappearance of the doctors has severely disrupted patient care, further straining an already overburdened facility at the hospital. The authorities have failed to trace their whereabouts, according to reports.

.The Health Department’s failure to locate them underscores a glaring lack of accountability in the healthcare system, leaving patients to bear the brunt of diminished services.

As per the media reports, two of doctors remain absent since 2016, with others absent since 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

The Health Department has been informed, but no progress has been made in locating the missing doctors.

The crisis has ignited public outrage. Berhampur MLA has urgently appealed to the state government for decisive action to address the issue and restore functionality to the hospital, reports added.

The unexplained disappearance of these doctors has not only adversely affected healthcare services but also raised questions about oversight and responsibility in government appointments.
